The poetic film, The Wait, follows the lives of a group of Syrian Christian refugees who have escaped war in their homeland and have taken refuge in a Syriac Orthodox Monastery just outside Beirut. Unable to work or find education for their children, they are stuck living in an in-between existence: waiting for visas to the West where they dream of starting their new lives. Centred around the Eastern Orthodox celebrations of Easter, The Wait explores the lives of these refugees over a period of four weeks as they wait for change, a new chance in life - giving insight into their spiritual as well as physical longing.
